Our Fertility Journey

While this is not new to many, some people are still unsure about what to say or how to discuss some of these issues. Especially when hearing about them for the first time. We will be adding to this space continuously with specifics on our current status, medications, and things we have learned.

PCOS

Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome

Amanda has been diagnosed with what is called PCOS, or Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome. While she has been fortunate in not experiencing some of the symptoms of this condition (such as a ruptured cyst) it does make fertilization very difficult. We lovingly like to say that her ovaries are selfish and don’t give up their eggs easily.

IVF

In Vitro Fertilization

Thanks to the power of modern science, In Vitro Fertilization, or IVF, can be used to augment the fertilization process. Eggs can be removed, fertilized, and transferred back into the uterus.
